Last night Christine, Trevor, and Brandon hosted New Year's at theit apartment. Any party that Christine throws is always a fun party, by the way. I was going to write in some highlights from the evening, but it seems I can't really remember that much. I'll wrap it up: we got so drunk we missed the midnight countdown, Trevor brought out his frog, we drank a lot of champagne, and Amy and Susie found two stray kitten in the parking lot. Oh, and I have to give mention to Christine's "trailer park sushi", which we all thought was freakin' adorable. (Hostess rolls cut into bite size pieces and then laid on their sides to look like little maki rolls.) I drank just a little too much. In fact, I haven't had a hangover this bad since I was in high school. I'm so ashamed. =)
Here are some of the pictures from last night:
Oh yeah, everyone thank Chad for being our sober driver last night. I'm paying him back by making split pea soup today.
First things first, this is going to be a long blog. There will be many pictures. You may want to go to the bathroom or get something to drink ahead of time. Oh, and before I say anything else, today is Chad's 31st birthday, and he's spending it at the Best Buy conventiony thing he went to in Florida. Poor Chad. =(
Part 1
Amy and I decided to party hop on Saturday, which means that we stopped by her friend Chad's house before we went to Alyce's annual Halloween party. Alyce's was the same great party is always is. Almost everyone showed up in a fabulous costume, but I wasn't able to get pictures of everyone who was there. I was uber-tired by 2 am, so I hitched a ride home from Tom and Susie because Amy was still boozin' and wasn't ready to go home. (Perfectly understandable; I would have stayed longer if I hadn't worked all day.) I went home, slept on the couch (cause Chad is still in Florida) and woke up at around 11am. I checked my phone to see what time it was when I woke up and saw that I had a message from Amy at 5am. I assumed that she was just drunk and had to tell me something silly, but she left me a harrowing message. Details to follow in part 2.
Here are the pictures from the party:
Ames and I were trashy pageant winners. I made the prego belly from pillow stuffing. We were awesome. Seriously.
The best thing about George being a bag of tortilla chips was the bag he had stuffed into the costume.
Alyce was so punk it hurt. She also played my baby's daddy.
Jen showed a little leg in her corpse bride costume. I only got half of Ren, which is sad because he went as George, coffee cup and everything.
Gina the cowgirl.
The best part of Ryan's costume is that if you change the wig, you can be any one of the founding fathers. Most of the evening we just called him Falco or Valmont, though.
Poor Tom had to wear this to work three weeks ago when his students were reading Julis Caesar.
You can't see them in this picture of Trevor as the white trash trick-or-treater, but Trevor has the same bike shorts on that he wore two years ago when he and Brandon went as Axyl and Slash.
The unibrow is what makes this picture of Kindra as Frieda so fab.
You can't see it cause she's sitting down, but Suz had the most amazing velvelt bell-bottoms on that I've ever seen.
Christine the mobster, complete with violin case and everything.
Part 2
Amy left me a message saying that after I left, a fire had started in Ren's room, (he's Alyce's room-mate) and that most of his stuff was destroyed. They don't know if it was a candle or Ren's stereo that started the fire. We spent most of today trying to clean the soot and char off of the walls in the house, but it's going to take a lot of work. There was a lot of smoke damage, but we got the hallway and living room all cleaned up.There was so much smoke that Alyce will have to have the vents professionally cleaned, and the house is going to need to be completely repainted. I do have pictures from today, but I'm not going to put them up, because I haven't asked Ren's permission and he's really shaken up. Jen was sleeping in the room when the fire started, but thankfully she woke up and was not hurt. We're all going to try to help Ren out as much as we can, and hopefully the room (which happens to be my old room when I lived there) will be in living order again soon. The good thing is that everone was okay, and hopefully Ren will be able to recover some of his things.
